Construction work on RB45 and RB110: Rail replacement traffic announced!
on the lines RB45 and RB110 of the Central German regiboahn (MRB), a replacement of rails was announced. The reason for this is the maintenance measures of the DB Infrago, which are carried out between Riesa and Döbeln as well as between large -scale and grimma. As part of these measures, track renovations in the section between Großbothen and Grimma are planned. Furthermore, the RB110 railway line is closed from mid -August to mid -September because of the renewal of the railway bridge in Grimmaer Husarenstrasse. The aim of modernization is to improve the infrastructure, quality and reliability of train traffic, such as Sächsische.de reported.
The changes in train traffic during construction times include various periods for the RB45 line. These are: from May 20 to 31 between Ostrau and Döbeln-Hauptbahnhof (sometimes only night trains affected), from July 10th to 17th between Riesa and Döbeln-Hauptbahnhof and from October 8th to 12th between Chemnitz Hauptbahnhof and Mittweida. The following restrictions occur on the RB110 route: from May 4 to June 27 between Großbothen and Döbeln-Hauptbahnhof, from May 24th only between Leisnig and Döbeln, as well as in the periods 24 to 30 to 30. October to November 3 between Borsdorf and Leipzig-Hauptbahnhof.
important investments for rail infrastructure
In parallel to these local measures, Deutsche Bahn (DB) undertakes significant investments to improve the rail infrastructure as part of the “S3” group renovation program by the end of 2027. A total of 53 billion euros should flow into the rail infrastructure, including 8 billion euros for general renovations. In addition, an intensification of classic maintenance is planned, with an annual budgeting of 5 billion euros from 2025 to 2027. This means almost doubling compared to 2020, such as Deutschebahn.com Registered. The overall program promotes the renovation of existing infrastructure and includes more than 400 train stations that are to be designed more customer -friendly and future -proof. In addition, regular modernizations of train stations, the replacement of outdated signal boxes and the expansion of digital technologies are planned to nodes and corridors. These measures run in parallel to the already announced rail replacement reversals and maintenance work.
