Railway closure in January: Travelers between Waiblingen and Cannstatt affected!
Aalen, Deutschland - In January 2025 there will be considerable restrictions on rail traffic between Waiblingen and Cannstatt. As the Zeitung Waiblingen will be carried out, the Deutsche Bahn will carry out work on the lead and security technology. This measure is part of the “Digital Knot Stuttgart” project and serves the long -term improvement of the rail network. Travelers have to prepare for a complete railway closure in the first week of January, which means that no trains will run on this section.
Furthermore, the S-Bahn Stuttgart is planning to change changes that affect the lines S4, S5 and S6/S60, such as the Stuttgart announced. On the section Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof to Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, top management, cable deep construction and signal work take place. This leads to a reduced timetable: the S4 and S5 only run every 30 minutes, while the line S6/S60 only runs between Zuffenhausen and the train stations because the city and Böblingen runs. The RB11 regional railway line will not drive during this time.
The effects of these construction work will affect travelers directly, and replacement concepts are currently being developed to ensure mobility during the closures. In order to stay up to date, it is advisable to check the current information in the travel information of the railway clients such as M.Bahn.de or in the DB Navigator app. Detailed information about the exact timetables and any replacement connections are gradually published there.
