New ZF logistics center in Friedrichshafen: groundbreaking for the future!
The construction of the new ZF logistics center started in Friedrichshafen! On November 11th, the solemn groundbreaking ceremony fell by Dr. Jochen Witzig, Prof. Dr. Peter Laier and Achim Dietrich was carried out. ZF is investing an impressive 14.3 million euros in this project, which should be completed by the end of 2025. The aim is to optimize the material flow and increase the company's competitiveness.The logistics center is strategically built at the Friedrichshafen location, where commercial vehicle and industrial technology is located. Prof. Dr. Peter Laier, board member, emphasizes the importance of the new building: "With the logistics center we can optimize the material flow and factory logistics, it makes us more efficient and more flexible." This is not only a financial investment, but also a strong commitment to the region and the skills of employees. Achim Dietrich, chairman of the works council, describes the groundbreaking ceremony as a "milestone" and a positive signal for the workforce in challenging times.
A look at the future
The three-phase plan for the logistics center stipulates that the concept development began in 2023, followed by the groundbreaking ceremony this year. Around 40 employees will work on an area of 3000 square meters in a highly automated and digitized environment. Dr. Jochen Witzig emphasizes that “parts tourism” is now a thing of the past, which makes production more efficient. This project is a crucial step to strengthen the Friedrichshafen location and to ensure the future viability of the company.
