Patrick Pentz: Brøndby's goalkeeper of the year inspires the fans!

Brøndby, Dänemark - Patrick Pentz, the 27-year-old Austrian goalkeeper, was recently elected to the player of 2024 at Bröndby IF. He received this award in an internal club in which the club's volunteers decided with him as favorites against captain Jacob Rasmussen and striker Yuito Suzuki. The association praised Pentz for his outstanding achievements last season, both in the spring and in the autumn season, as Brøndby IF explained in an official message. Pentz was a central part of the team and was on the pitch in every league game this season. In November he even took over the captain's armband in three games.

The goalkeeper, who initially moved from Bayer 04 Leverkusen to Denmark in the summer of 2023, concluded a fixed transfer this summer. Leverkusen's sports boss Simon Rolfes said that Pentz would not receive the desired season in Leverkusen due to the commitment of the goalkeeper Matej Kovar and it would therefore make sense to borrow him from Bröndby for a season. This happened to increase its chances of being nominated for the Austrian national team for the European Championship 2024 in Germany. Bröndby, which is currently fifth in the Superliga and is six points behind the leaders FC Copenhagen, sees a valuable addition to his squad in Pentz.

a successful step forward

Already on Sunday Patrick Pentz will make his debut for Bröndby in the away game against FC Midtjylland. He will wear the number 1. Pentz is optimistic about this challenge and expressed an enthusiasm about his decision: "Brøndby IF has an excellent reputation for the development of goalkeepers and I feel ready to make my contribution to the team." His goal is to be recommended for the European Championship 2024 and to take the next step in his career in Denmark, like Bild reported.
