Leverkusen's schools: This is how children can successfully save energy!

Leverkusen, Deutschland - Sustainability is very important in Leverkusen, and not only since yesterday! Over 50 schools and daycare centers are actively involved in the “Energie-Lux” project to save energy and protect the climate. Mayor Bernhard Marewski recently paid tribute to the commitment of the GGS in the Kirchfeld, the Realschule am Stadtpark and the daycare center on Quettinger Feld with a "golden power plug". The facilities for their innovative approaches, from waste prevention to energy savings, receive this award. The GGS in the Kirchfeld relies on sustainable ingredients in daily break: children bring their break bread in reusable cans, while at the Realschule am Stadtpark, a detailed exhibition was created to raise awareness of environmental issues, such as ksta.de reported.

Education for sustainable development: The future begins at school

But Leverkusen is not alone. All over Germany, education for sustainable development (BNE) is required to secure a better future for the youth. The alliance of future education is working on an integration of ESN into all educational institutions. Education is intended to enable the young generation to actively deal with topics such as social justice, environmental protection and participation in society. In view of the urgent global challenges such as climate change and social inequality, access to high-quality education is essential, such as "https://www.2030report.de/de/bericht/1774/kapit-fuer--nachthalt-fulen-step-step-alle-mit.de> 2030report.de In order to achieve these goals, considerable financial resources are required: Around 13.7 billion euros are to flow into the development of BNE by 2030 in order to establish sustainable practices in schools.

Together, these initiatives show that education and active action in schools are the key to initiating the necessary changes for a more environmentally friendly future. With a clear plan and a common effort, the youth can become an important player in climate protection.
