Gögginger receives the Federal Cross of Merit for Tier love heroes

In an extraordinary moment, Elke Wengert, the passionate animal rights activist from Göggingen, is awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Stuttgart on Stuttgart on Stuttgart. This honor by Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann recognizes her outstanding commitment to wild animals and its important role in the Gögginger wildlife sanctuary. In the past few decades, Wengert has saved their life, birds and other wild animals and helped them to be released into freedom, such as the Schwäbische Post reported.

But the joy of this award is overshadowed by an urgent emergency. The wildlife sanctuary is faced with the challenge that over 100 hungry and injured hedgehogs have to be fed every day. In the past few months, the number of animals recorded has increased dramatically; 220 hedgehogs have been brought to care since August. Elke Wengert warns that if the numbers rising further, she could be forced to make an admission stop if not more supporters will help soon, like the Gmünder daily post reported. Above all, the food shortage caused by environmental changes has tightened the situation for the hedgehogs, while robots in gardens are a new threat.

Wengert's passionate commitment extends beyond the care of the injured animals. She is looking for reliable helpers who can regularly support in the morning or evening feeding. In order to ensure the survival of the hedgehogs, continuous commitment and financial support from donations are essential. If you want to help, you can contact Wengert or access the account details for support.
