Fair pleasure for Christmas: Main-Kinzig-Kreis remains pioneer!
The Main-Kinzig-Kreis remains proud of its title as a "Fairtrade-Landkreis"! With the successful re-certification, which was announced on February 27, 2024, the district continues to meet all five criteria of the Fairtrade Towns campaign, which he awarded him two years ago by Fairtrade Deutschland e.V. District Administrator Thorsten Stolz underlined the importance of this award and emphasized that this is not only an honor, but also proof of the sustainable anchoring of the fair trade in the region. Supported by local actors from politics, civil society and business, the district has continuously expanded its efforts to promote fair -traded products, as the initiative reports.
commitment and actions in the focus
As part of the celebrations for re-certification, numerous activities and projects were emphasized that show the commitment to fair trade in the Main-Kinzig district. This includes participation in the fair weeks, the fair bike tour and the fair baking. The distribution of fairly traded roses for World Women's Day was also emphasized as a significant action. These initiatives strengthen the awareness of the population for fair production conditions and social responsibility.
The commitment also extends to the numerous Fairtrade Towns in the district, including Gelnhausen, Hanau and the newly certified community of Biebergemünd. The close cooperation of all actors involved should further promote fair trade. District Administrator proudly appeals to the citizens to make conscious purchasing decisions in order to improve the living and working conditions of many people in the manufacturing countries. The overarching goal remains to "think globally and act locally", which the district implemented with VERVE to create a fairer trading world, such as and Mkk.de Report.
