Volunteering in football: Referee group Saarlouis celebrates their heroes!
Saarlouis, Deutschland - The referee group Saarlouis recently celebrated its traditional honor of deserved referees in the club house of SV Hülzweiler. Michael Albert, the chairman of the more than 100 -year -old group, welcomed numerous guests, including representatives of the Saarland Football Association (SFV). Numerous referees were awarded for their decades of commitment at the festive apprenticeship. Thorben Rech, the SFV association teaching manager, led the event and honored the services of the referees, who are often also active in higher competitions. Udo Marmit, district leader of the SFV, emphasized the importance of the referees' volunteer work: "They are the quiet heroes on the pitch who keep football alive," says Marmit. Among the honored was Hans Kaudernack, who received a special award for 35 years of referee community, while Rudolf Schweitzer was recognized for 45 years of loyal membership. At the same time, TSV Gärtringen looked back on an exciting year 2023, including a late anniversary celebration for its 100th anniversary under the new President Jürgen Vetter. Numerous activities and events of the association were highlighted at the general meeting, including a successful weekend in the festival with various events that took place in the Ludwig-Fuhland hall. "The committed cooperation between the members was crucial for the success of these events," emphasized Vetter. Volleyball activity was also promoted with an extension of a new equipment room on the Theodor-Heuss-Halle, which creates additional space over 92 square meters. The successful introduction of a basketball initiative for young people and the planning of sensitization events testify to the endeavor of the association to develop and implement a solid child and youth protection concept.
