Bishop Voderholzer celebrates 11 years of service with moving thanks

Regensburger Dom St. Peter, 93047 Regensburg, Deutschland - On January 28, 2024, a thank -you cathedral in Regensburg cathedral in honor of Bishop Dr. Rudolf Voderholzer take place. On the occasion of his 11th anniversary as Bishop of Regensburg, Voderholzer will thank the faithful for their support and for the divine protection during his term. Bishop Voderholzer was consecrated to the 78th Bishop of Regensburg on January 26, 2013.

The thanksgiving is musically designed by the choir of the Regensburg cathedral sparrows under the direction of Max Rädlinger, while Professor Franz Josef Stoiber plays the organ. Voderholzer is supported by Auxiliary Bishop Dr. Josef Graf, Cathedral Prelate Dr. Franz early morning and deacon Michael Weißmann.

As part of these celebrations, Manfred Kellner is also awarded the Wolfgang Medal. As the Upper Palatinate Echo , the medal annually awarded the Bishop of Regensburg to outstanding outstanding world Christians. The award was also awarded on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of Bishop Voderholzer's consecration in the Regensburg Cathedral. Kellner, whose family and several ecclesiastical representatives took part in the Dankvesper, was recognized as a Catholic World Cup for his decades of commitment.

Bishop Voderholzer praised Kellner's commitment, who includes the co -initiation of the Albersriether Dorfrates and a long -term membership in the parish council of Waldthurn. Kellner worked as head of operations for the village helper for 25 years and was also involved in Catholic adult education. He was also on the diocesan board for 12 years and has been working in the diocesan committee since 2017.

The ceremonial award of the Wolfgang Medal took place in the Kolpinghaus. This award has been awarded since 1973 and is the highest honor for lay people in the diocese of Regensburg. A total of five people were honored this year, including waiter from Albersrieth, which was highlighted as a formative face of the Catholic country.
