Visions for health care: PVE conference in Linz 2025!

Linz, Österreich - On May 22nd and 23rd, 2025, the PVE conference took place in Linz under the motto "Visions for health care close to home". Dr. Alexander Biach from the SVS pointed out the challenges that an aging population, the shortage of skilled workers and increasing costs.

A central appeal from Biach was that the PVE should act as prevention centers, supported by digitization. Dr. Wolfgang Blank presented a practice network from the Bavarian Forest, which impresses with a clear distribution and training model. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Gabriele Fischer called for the integration of addicted people into regular care, while Dr. Patrick Reichel presented group practice Sierndorf as an example of interprofessional cooperation.

Another important point of the discussion was the topic of vaccinations in primary care, that of Dr. Melanie Tamesberger and Dr. Erwin Rebhandl was introduced. The importance of vaccinations for prevention and public health was emphasized. The second day of the conference focused on the further development of multi -professional cooperation. Andreas Huss from the ÖGK presented a concept for practical and therapy centers, while Johanna Pilwarsch from the GöG explained how health professions can be anchored in PVE.
