Donations for Vorarlberg: volunteers fight for the help of the population!
Satteins, Österreich - Caritas is faced with a trend in willingness to donate. Walter Schmolly, Caritas Director, expressed concern: "The development is slightly declining as a whole." The challenge becomes visible, especially in small communities such as Satteins, since fewer collectors are active. Edeltraud Bale, a volunteer donation collector, reported that many people no longer have cash at home. Inquiries for card payment options are increasing and some potential donors are skeptical about Caritas. "People wonder how much of the collecting amount gets home," said Bale. Nevertheless, the money collected is completely invested in local social projects, including the "Initiative Herz" that Seniors does.
donation actions and their importance
Currently around 400 volunteers are traveling in March to collect donations for people in need in Vorarlberg. Caritas collected 180,000 euros last year - this year it should be even more to continue local projects. Some projects are the 16 learning cafes that are supported directly by this donation. "For people in need, every donation not only means financial aid, but also shows them that they are not alone," said Caritas.
In the diocese of Fulda, the Caritas collections take place twice a year, with committed volunteers ask for financial support. These donations are direct help for people in emergencies, such as refugees or families in need. The collected funds are recorded for numbered collecting lists and help the Caritas associations to act unbureaucratically. The next collection dates are planned in spring, from May 24th to June 3 and a autumn collection from November 4th to 14th. Online donations are also possible at any time to support the valuable work of Caritas, as is explained at Caritas Fulda
