Austrians want more AI in the job: The future starts now!
Österreich - Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly perceived as an important instrument in the professional life of the Austrians: inside. According to a representative study by PWC Austria and Microsoft Austria, the use of AI in the job or in the training of 18 % in 2023 to 28 % in 2024 increased. Almost half of the respondents, exactly 45 %, would like to use AI tools in everyday work. This need is particularly pronounced in generation Z, where 59 % of those surveyed strive for greater support from AI. This reports Leadersnet .
Another interesting knowledge is that 52 % of the respondents see more advantages than disadvantages in the use of AI. The benefits of AI are primarily recognized in automating annoying and time -consuming tasks. 69 % of the participants believe that KI can lead to relief for repetitive activities, an increase of 57 % in 2023. This tendency reflects the potential of AI to increase efficiency in various industries and could ultimately also help to reduce the shortage of skilled workers.
preparation for change
Nevertheless, there is great uncertainty regarding personal skills in dealing with AI. Only 32 % of the respondents feel sufficiently prepared for the AI-shaped world of work, while 76 % are pronounced for their own school subject on the subject of artificial intelligence. Generation Z in particular shows a positive attitude; 53 % feel well equipped when it comes to the use of AI in the future. A gender -specific difference is also recognizable because 40 % of the men assess their skills as sufficient, while only 25 % of women claim this.
Rudolf Krickl, CEO of PWC Austria, emphasizes the need to enable all people to deal with AI. This basic conviction is also shared by Hermann Erlach, General Manager at Microsoft Austria, which emphasizes the importance of expansion of AI skills for the digital transformation and the competitiveness of Austria.
The future of the world of work
The effects of AI on the labor market are complex and include both opportunities and challenges. The progressive digitization leads to changes in job profiles, activities and forms of work. Forecasts indicate that AI will bring profound change in the labor market in the long term. Although there are above all positive expectations regarding new fields of activity, there are also concerns about possible job losses that could result from automation. An analysis of the Federal Center for Political Education shows that KI is only gradually involved in the world of work and the influence on the labor market is currently still low.
AI technologies are used in different areas, from data processing to customer care to personnel work. In this context, 39 % of those surveyed show the greatest potential of AI in healthcare. It is expected that AI will not only replace human work, but also add and open up new fields of activity. However, these changes also require regulation and education to take advantage of opportunities and minimize risks, as the recent AI law of the EU Parliament shows.
The AI roadshow, which takes place in several Austrian cities from April 7th to 24th, is seen as a way to present practical application examples and to raise awareness of the skills of AI. In a rapidly changing work environment, it remains crucial to give both the vocational training and the social discussion about the use of AI.
