Lower Saxony's minister causes a stir with winter letter instead of Christmas greetings
The Lower Saxony Minister of Culture Julia Willie Hamburg from the Greens ensures turmoil with an unusual step: Instead of the usual Christmas greetings, she sent a so -called "winter letter" to schools, pupils, parents and teachers. What is missing? A simple "Merry Christmas". The letter begins with neutral words and a review of a year -shaped year. Hamburg speaks of "too many crises, wars and challenges" that not only concern the adults, but also the schools. Impressive how she pays the teachers for their work despite these challenges, as from Apollo News reported.
But it really surprises, in times when every form of tradition is questioned? The term “Christmas” is only indirectly mentioned in Hamburg's letter, of all places as a quote from Charles Dickens. Hamburg quoted: "A very little key will open a very heavy door", translated with the indication that small deeds can cause great things. Instead of the holidays, the symbol of the peace light presented by scouts is in the foreground - a light for peace and humanity. "I would like to pass this light on to you and you today," explains Hamburg, calling to make small changes every day.
"contemplative and quiet days" instead of "Merry Christmas"
The reactions to this unconventional letter were not long in coming. Anabel Schunke, publicist, shared the document on the well -known platform X, which provided plenty of conversation. The Lower Saxony Ministry of Culture was prompted to react, but a Dementi was not expressed in the authenticity of the letter. The question of why a traditional Christmas greeting is missing remains open.
The conclusion of the letter is interesting: Hamburg wishes “contemplative and quiet days” and a review of the past year. This unusual letter, which is supposed to set a sign of change in the middle of a time of economic challenges and global conflicts, will remain for a long time.
Apollo News further fueled the debate about this letter and thus ensured plenty of discussion on the net. In times when social traditions are often questioned, the question arises: loses Christmas or is it simply the new way of reflection?
