Kappaurers stop knee problems: Return from Gallhuber to hard rehabilitation!

The alpine technology specialist Elisabeth Kappaurer has to end her season prematurely due to health problems. After arthroscopy in October, the 30-year-old continuously fought painful symptoms in her left knee, which, according to the information from the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV), caused her to continue operation. Kappaurer has already been operated on in the Hochrum clinic and will now pause for several months. "Qualitatively good training is simply not possible if you are not pain -free," reflected the Vorarlberg woman over the past few weeks in which she had to struggle with pain every day, like OE24 reported .

In the meantime, Katharina Gallhuber celebrates a remarkable comeback after a serious knee injury that she had suffered from a training fall in Argentina almost a year ago. The diagnosis was on a tear of the front cruciate ligament and the outer and inner meniscus. After a long rehabilitation period, the 26-year-old can now return to the snow and describes her first day on the skis as a "goosebumps moment". "It was really a long way back, for a long time," Gallhuber looks back on the past few months that she spent in hard work. The comeback day was an emotional experience for the technology specialist, who fortunately did not cause any problems. "I've been rewarded with a wonderful day and perfect slopes," she said, such as Laola1.

The two athletes are therefore exemplary for the challenges in alpine skiing, where injuries can often influence the course of the career. While Kappaurer now has to take a forced break, Gallhuber takes the opportunity to gradually find her old performance level. Your goal is to establish yourself in the top of the world without getting unnecessary pressure.
