Children design bright Christmas trees - a festival for the senses!

In this festive season, numerous children of 38 daycare centers and schools in Brandenburg an der Havel contributed with great enthusiasm and creativity to the traditional “Christmas tree decorations”. The little artists have made decorative elements that are now emblazoned on the Christmas trees along the shopping streets. Michael Friedrich, an employee of the city marketing company, thanked the hard -working handicrafts and emphasized that this campaign brings a special Christmas ambience to the city center. These year take as many children as ever before, and local dealers are also active to support the festive atmosphere with their own decorations. The decorative campaign runs until December 12, 2024, followed by the evaluation of the most beautiful trees by a jury on December 13th, in the presence of Santa Claus.

The GWH invited young and old to contribute creative handicrafts for the jewelry. Once again, the children from the daycare center on Hans-Böckler-Straße full of zeal were to beautify the tree with colorful, weatherproof handicrafts. In addition to homemade stars and hearts, the Johanniter also contributed decorations like small Christmas tree balls to underline the festive mood.

In the senior citizens' residential complex at August-Bebel-Straße 7, a tree was also decorated. Under the direction of Barbara Lale Coskun, the seniors decorated with great joy and conjured up a festive atmosphere in the common room. The anticipation for Christmas was clearly noticeable, and the seniors enjoyed the moment by playing a game of Mikado after work. Anastasja Schatz, the department head, emphasized that these actions not only promote the community spirit, but also an example of how committed citizens and institutions can work together to create something beautiful.
