Käthe-Kollwitz-Gymnasium: New toilets and modern laboratories for the future!

Neustadt, Deutschland - A new age is on the Käthe-Kollwitz-Gymnasium! The old, stinking toilets are finally history! The newly renovated toilet facility was officially opened on Wednesday, and the students can now look forward to hygienic and modern equipment.

The old toilets that came from the 1960s were a constant annoyance for the school community. Browls and defective sinks caused heated discussions. But now one of the three systems shines in new splendor: contactless rinsing, self -cleaning systems during the holidays and a seamless floor coating make the toilets a showcase project. Over 20 companies have been involved in the renovation since the summer holidays in 2022, while the students had to endure in toilet containers.

modernization of the science rooms

But that's not all! The scientific classrooms have also received a comprehensive upgrade. Since May 2021, twelve rooms for physics, chemistry and biology have been modernized during school. New furniture, modern technology and an improved network infrastructure ensure that the students can learn optimally. The changeover to a decentralized gas supply with propane gas bottles is another step into the future!

Mayor Marc Weigel celebrated the opening and thanked everyone involved for their hard work. "We can finally deliver what was ordered for a long time," he emphasized. Despite unforeseen problems and increases in costs that delayed implementation, Weigel announced further investments in Neustadt schools. The new toilet facility cost over 950,000 euros, while the modernization of the natural sciences rooms devoured around 2.88 million euros. A big step for education in Neustadt!

The solemn inauguration was musically framed by the "Käthe Concert Band", which was celebrated after a five -year break with great applause for her performance of hits like "Living on a Prayer". Headmaster Stefan Vogt praised the cooperation and the persistence of students and parents who had fought for improvements. "It is really going on by the Käthe," says Vogt.
