Carinthia celebrates: Exhibition Gate to Democracy opens in the country house!
in the heart of Carinthia, exactly in the Klagenfurt country house, the permanent exhibition "Gate to Democracy" was inaugurated. About 200 guests were present, including politicians and social representatives. Governor Peter Kaiser and President of the Landtag Reinhold Rohr led the event, which was brought to life after 20 months of intensive work. The exhibition offers a deep insight into the history of democracy in Carinthia and illuminates the development of the country house and the central role of the Carinthian state parliament in the separation of powers, such as click-kaernten.at reported.
The presentation underlines the importance of preserving the values of democracy even in times of crisis. "Democracy is not a matter of course. We have to fight it every day!" Said Kaiser. Rohr added that the new exhibition should also support the visit of around 8,000 students annually in order to bring young people closer to the basics of democratic values.
interactive experiences and future visions
A special feature of the exhibition is the possibility for visitors to interactively explore the history of the country house via a cell phone app. At the same time, the state parliament in Düsseldorf opens the doors on Sunday, May 5th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This opportunity to experience democracy and architecture up close is offered free of charge. Guided tours and a smartphone tour offer exclusive insights into the plenary hall and the committee rooms. The entire event is supplemented by current exhibitions, according to
A special highlight in Düsseldorf is the sculpture "Angel of Cultures - Peace Column for Jerusalem", which promotes intercultural and interreligious dialogue. Visitors can also visit the impressive figure "Justice Man", which consists of books about German laws and is strongly reminiscent of the dark days of German jurisdiction in the Third Reich. The extensive smartphone tour and the additional information offer a modern way to bring the importance of democracy closer and to keep history alive.
