The American photographer Piper Mackay was awarded the overall victory for her pictures, all of which have a unique color and were taken with infrared light. The Mexican photographer Maricruz Sainz de Aja won in the category “Faces, People, Cultures” for her pictures that represent the life of the Wauga tribe in New Guinea.
Jenny Stock from the United Kingdom took first place in the “Wildlife, Nature and Underwater” category with their photos, which hold the cold, merciless majesty of Krokodils in Cuba.

The Chinese photographer Raymond Zhang was awarded a Young Travel Photographer of the Year for his urgent photos of workers and trains in a Chinese coal mining, while the 12-year-old Leonardo Murray in the category under 14 was awarded for his abstract recordings by dunes in the Namib desert.

All award -winning photos can be viewed on the competition website, as well as in an exhibition in the Banbury Museum and Galleries near Oxford, united Kingdom, from March 29 to July 7. Then the exhibition will travel to the United Arab Emirates and to Changsha, China.
