Gaufest Traunstein 2025: Prime Minister Söder enthusiastic about community spirit!

Traunstein, Deutschland - On January 10, 2025, it became known that Bavarian Prime Minister Dr. Markus Söder (CSU) will take part in the 135th Gaufest of the Gauverband I in Traunstein. The invitation took place as part of the ceremony for the anniversary "650 years of city rights for Traunstein". The festival takes place from July 18 to 27, 2025 and is organized for the first time by three clubs: GTEV D’Gmiadlichn Hochbergler, GTEV Eschenwald Rettenbach and GTEV Trauntal Traunstein. Mayor Dr. Christian Hümmer and Gau chairman Michael Hauser were present when the invitation was presented. Söder thankfully accepted the invitation and praised the commitment of the Traunsteiner, who are preparing to get an unforgettable festival on his feet.

The official GbR contract for the Gautrachtenfest was signed on November 24, 2024. The board members of the organizing clubs, Julian Heigenhauser (Hochberg), Franz Maier (Rettenbach) and Hans Hölzle (Traunstein) were present. A fixed committee was founded, which consists of the 1st and 2nd board members of the three clubs as well as festival manager Simon Schreiber and third mayor Sepp Kaiser. The preparations are already in full swing, including the tent award and the selection of the gastronomy and brewery.

For the Gautrachtenfest, around 8,000 traditional costumes and around 12,000 visitors are expected. The first program items include a pageant through the city center and a solemn service in the city park. In addition, the Bavarian cabaret artist Wolfgang Krebs will appear on July 26, 2025; Ticket sales should begin before Christmas. Festival manager Simon Schreiber emphasizes that it should not be a feast of superlatives, but a simple and beautiful festival, and expressed the view that the "Traunstein model" could serve as an example for future Gaufest referees. Gau chairman Michael Hauser thanked Söder for the recognition of the voluntary work of the traditional costumes and at the same time asked for further support for the traditional costume.
