The rescue control center received reports on an intensive gas smell that required immediate measures. A fire engine and the environmental service were immediately sent to the site, where the first emergency services immediately made measurements. The results were alarming: a gas outbreak in the basement area was confirmed!
The head of the operations reacted quickly and increased the alarm keyword to "technical assistance with risk of explosion". The evacuation of the affected house and the adjacent buildings began immediately. In order to protect the 36 evacuated persons from the cold, an HVV bus was requested. The Hamburg fire brigade also mobilized a module support team to provide people as best as possible. Fortunately, nobody remained injured, but the situation required the greatest attention!

After three and a half hours of intensive work, the site was handed over to the police at 8:48 p.m. During the mission, a person with internal problems was brought to a nearby hospital. A total of around 50 emergency services of the professional and volunteer fire brigade were deployed to control the situation and prevent worse things!
