Burgenland's care revolution: 71 support points for dignified aging!
A brand new tender for care bases is causing a stir in Burgenland! With this initiative, which was launched last Saturday, the state government under Governor Hans Peter Doskozil is taking a significant step towards improved nursing care. A total of 71 care bases in 28 regions are intended to increase awareness of high-quality, non-inpatient care. “People want to age with dignity in their own four walls for as long as possible,” explains Doskozil, emphasizing how important it is to support this wish. The new tender is an invitation to all current providers to actively participate in this development in order to guarantee security of supply on site burgenland.at reported.
Successful employment for relatives
But the focus is not just on setting up the bases! The innovative employment model for caring relatives is also being expanded. This means that the older generation in Burgenland can be looked after comfortably and safely by their family members at home, as Regional Councilor Leonhard Schneemann emphasizes. To date, this model has made 467 jobs possible. As of October 1, 2023, 284 members will already be on duty, with salaries being adjusted to the country's salary scales. The positive feedback on this model shows how crucial it is for relatives to receive the support they need. “This measure not only serves to provide financial security, but also to socially recognize the work of the relatives,” reports social-services-burgenland.at.
The care bases and the expanded employment model represent Burgenland's determination to actively respond to the tense care situations. With over 87,000 citizens over the age of 60, care and support are extremely relevant. Doskozil emphasizes: “We are not waiting for a nationwide reform, but are taking independent measures that help cover nursing needs.” This shows the Burgenlanders' commitment to providing care of the highest quality and according to the needs of the community.
