Marktoberdorf, Deutschland - From January 1, 2025, the emergency service regulation in the pharmacies of Bavaria will be fundamentally reformed. The Bavarian State Pharmacist Chamber (Blak) has announced that the willingness to serve will begin uniformly at 8.30 a.m. and will take until 8.30 a.m. until the following day. This decision aims to make the distribution of emergency services more fairly and at the same time relieve personnel and patients. The Hubertus pharmacy in Marktoberdorf sees the new regulations positively and expects a significant relief for existing burdens by frequent emergency services, such as Dr. Sabine Verwied-Jorky explained.

A crucial element of the new regulation is the digital AI system, which is intended to enable optimized planning of emergency services. The Blak promises that 92 percent of the Bavarian population have access to an emergency pharmacy within 20 kilometers, and not only during the day, but also at night and on public holidays. This initiative is necessary because the pharmacy density fluctuates in Bavaria, which requires a nationwide supply. Patients can view the information on the new year on the Blak website, while the existing information will remain available until then, as reported.

The emergency service region around the Hubertus pharmacy not only includes Marktoberdorf, but also adjacent places such as Kaufbeuren, Neugablonz, Biessenhofen, Mauerstetten and Germaringen. The new regulation comes just in time to reduce the flood of emergency services that were previously between four and six per month and thus facilitate work in the pharmacies. The Blak underlines that these measures ensure a clearer structure and better predictability, which is advantageous for both pharmacies and patients.
