AWO honors loyal employees: 160 years of committed service!
Höxter, Deutschland - On December 27, 2024, eleven employees were honored in the AWO district association Höxter for a total of 160 years of service. The celebrations took place in a small ceremony in the meeting room of the office in Bad Driburg and were led by the board team, consisting of Sabine Heikenfeld and Aljona Gottfried.
Among the honored are Monika Rade and Heidi Thüer, who can look back on the association for 25 years. Marion Nawrath celebrated her 20th anniversary. Anja Brockmann, Ulrike Ferber, Jessika Gottfried, Bernadette Niemeier, Mareike Stöver and Stephanie Wiechers have been working in the association for ten years, while Brigitte Ehmann and Sabine Redeker have been with the AWO district association for 15 years. The employees work in various areas, including outpatient care, administration, OGS support, youth welfare, school support and advice. Many of them have taken on different tasks in the course of their many years of activity.

In addition to the anniversary of the employees, the AWO district association offers support for young and expectant parents as part of the “Starts chances” program. The parents' meeting takes place on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. in the AWO family base "Dieter-Heistermann-Zermann" in Höxter. The target group is parents with children from 0 to 3 years. At these meetings, activities such as exchange, playing together and creative offers are in the foreground. Registration is possible on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. by SMS or call. In addition, advice and consultation is offered on Fridays that supports parents in development and educational issues and provides further offers on request. The “Starts chances” project is subsidized by the Höxter district.
