Israeli troops surround Gazaklinik and demand evacuation

The employees of a hospital in northern Gaza report that the building is surrounded by Israeli armed forces and that they were asked to evacuate the hospital together with all patients. This happened after reports on a nearby air raid, in which around 50 people were killed, according to the local Ministry of Health.

urgent evacuation of the hospital

"The Israeli armed forces besge down the Kamal Adwan Hospital and issue evacuation commands," said hospital director Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya in a post on social media on Friday morning. A nurse and a journalist who are in the Beit Lahiya district in the Beit Lahiya Hospital also confirmed this. In audio messages that are available, they report that people were asked to leave the hospital and go into the courtyard of the site.

attacks and injured

On Friday morning, the nurse Walid Al Budi, also in the hospital, released a video that shows a fire in the hospital's archive department. Heavy shots can be heard in the background. Dr. Abu Safiya said that the hospital and its surroundings have suffered from a devastating fire from Israeli attacks in the past few months. According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza and Dr. Abu Safiya was killed about 50 people on Thursday evening, including five medical employees, on Thursday evening.

losses under medical personnel

"There are about 50 martyrs, including three of our medical employees who are under the ruins of a building opposite the Kamal Adwan Hospital after it has been attacked by the crew troops," reported Dr. Abu Safiya. Among the three hospital employees killed was the pediatrician Dr. Ahmed Samour, who was on duty on Thursday, but when the attack took place, hurried to his family's apartment opposite the hospital. A laboratory and a maintenance technician were also killed.

reactions of the Israeli military

Two paramedics killed in an attack near the hospital while they went there, the director reported. "Your corpses are on the street where nobody can reach her," he added.

In an explanation of CNN, the Israeli military expressed that it "has no knowledge of attacks in the area of the Kamal Adwan Hospital", but added that the reports about five medical employees killed are "checked". "The number of victims reported in the media did not match the information," said it.

air strikes and humanitarian crisis

In October this year, the Israeli forces again started air strikes and soil offensives in several parts of the northern Gaza, with the aim of fighting a reinforced Hamas presence again. The two -month offensive has transformed streets into rubble fields, killed entire families and strongly exhausted the supplies of food, water and medical aids.

According to Dr. Abu Safiya has shot at the Israeli military of the Kamal Adwan Hospital every day and searched the facility at least six times since October 5. Eyewitnesses reported CNN in December that four doctors were killed when the Israeli armed forces stormed the site and killed and injured dozens of people in the surrounding areas.

pacifist voices and humanitarian concerns

On Thursday, a Palestinian nurse after an attack in which Israeli forces detonated a drone in front of the hospital was taken to the hospital with a broken skull. The Israeli military announced CNN that it "examined" the incident. Israel claims that Hamas operates in and among hospitals and uses them for military operations, including command posts and arms camps. The country has published videos that alleged evidence of Hamas' operations while rejecting the allegations.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has in the past stated that Israeli authorities have repeatedly refused humanitarian access to the Kamal Adwan Hospital. It was only this week that an application for the use of international medical emergency teams was rejected by the Israeli authorities, "despite the need for immediate surgical intervention for injured patients."

The Israeli organization "Doctors for Human Rights" has submitted an urgency application to the Supreme Court of Israel, which calls for an immediate end of the attack on the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza. In the organization's explanation, it is pointed out that the “petition is presenting serious evidence of the catastrophic effects on the hospital and its staff last year.”

claims for a stopping the evacuation

"The evacuation of the Kamal Adwan Hospital would leave thousands of residents in northern Gaza without access to medical treatment for sick and injured. Many of the patients currently treated cannot be safely evacuated due to the constant fire near and military restrictions on the emergency services," added the Israeli human rights organization.
