ÖAMTC technician Steffan Kerbl warns: "If the battery is really defective, only an exchange helps that can be carried out by our breakdown aid." Kerbl explains that it should be noted: "It is important that the nominal voltage of both car batteries is identical and the vehicles are not allowed to touch each other." In addition, the engine and all electrical consumers of the donor vehicle should be switched off. The use of starting aid cables with overload protection is recommended to avoid expensive damage.
