An illegal incident occurred in Speyer on Monday morning, December 17, 2024, which caused a stir. At around 7:30 a.m., a 38-year-old man rioted in front of a supermarket on Maximilianstrasse. After the police arrived at the scene, the man initially disappeared. But the situation quickly escalated when he appeared again at the main train station around 11:30 a.m., insulted passers-by and burst out shouting loudly. Despite being sent off, things got worse when half an hour later the man was involved in a heated argument with a 60-year-old man on Bahnhofstrasse. Due to his aggressive behavior and previous incidents, he was handcuffed and taken into police custody. Criminal proceedings for bodily harm are now being initiated against the 38-year-old.
