In Bad Friedrichshall, Baden-Württemberg, a tragic incident occurred on Tuesday at a mechanical engineering company in which two people were fatally injured and another person was critically injured. The perpetrator who broke into the company wearing a mask and fired shots is currently on the run. The police have launched an extensive search, including the use of a police helicopter.

At 5:45 p.m., the masked person stormed the company, which is located on Siemensstrasse. According to police reports, no further dangers to the public can currently be ruled out and extensive investigations are being carried out in the area. After the incident, three deaths were initially reported, but this was not confirmed.

The police alerted a special operations team (SEK), which was quickly dispatched to the scene of the crime. At 8:16 p.m., the emergency services cordoned off the area in the Hagenbach district to investigate the fleeing perpetrator. Mayor Timo Frey (CDU) expressed his concern and provided information about the situation. The company in question, which produces gears, is a family business and has been producing precision gears for over five decades. Around 400 employees work in the company.

During the major operation, the emergency services reported on the situation on site at around 7:58 p.m. Hänel employees were interviewed at a nearby gas station while emergency responders stood by to provide support. Despite the urgency of the situation, investigators confirmed that the population was not in danger and provided information about ongoing searches.
