New mayor candidate Kreibich: This is how he wants to change Salzburg!

In Salzburg, there are drastic changes, while the new mayor candidate of the ÖVP, Florian Kreibich, is coming to the fore of his ambitions for the city. After the long-time mayor Harald Preuner resigned from politics, Kreibich takes the lead under the motto: "Prevent red-red-green!" With a clear goal in mind, he would like to convince the voters on March 10 and thus take over the city government. Known by his humorous nature, he is determined to become active as a mayor. "Plan A to C is mayor, Plan D is Vice Mayor," said Kreibich in an interview with Salzburg24.

A central topic that Kreibich wants to tackle is the pigeon problem in the city. The municipal veterinary office has announced that a new pigeon house will not bring a significant benefit and instead should be concentrated on the containment of illegal pigeon feeding. Kreibich intends to regulate these feedings in order to solve the problem more efficiently. He explains that the financing of a new pigeon house is not justified if you do not get the feeding under control. While his predecessor advocated a pigeon house, the new mayor shows that he is pragmatic and wants to influence the priorities in the city.

The way to the mayorship

Kreibich, who recently rose to the Vice Mayor's office, sees a challenge towards a challenge: he is fighting strong competitors such as Bernhard Auinger and Kay-Michael Dankl. His election campaign focuses on the proximity to the citizen and transparency. "I want to talk to people and hear their worries," says Kreibich, who sees himself as a bridge builder between the parties. He plans to work with various parties to define "lighthouse projects" for the city. Here he shows optimism that an agreement on cross -party projects is possible.

The versatile Kreibich is not only a lawyer, but also an active member of numerous social organizations. He has already announced that he concentrated on socio -political issues and support the cultural initiatives in Salzburg. So he wants to see the city not only perceived as a festival site, but also as a place for open-air concerts and other cultural events.
