Growth in the hotel sector: Rainer Group takes over four hotels in Germany
The Rainer Group, known for its hotel companies in Austria, branches in a new direction and has recently taken significant steps into the hotel industry in Germany. With the complete takeover of four hotels, including three in Munich and one in Berlin, the number of their rooms and beds has increased significantly and now reached the number of over 1,065 rooms with a total of 2,336 beds available.
The Senator Hotel Vienna, Rainer's Hotel Vienna and the Hotel Rainers in the Businespark Campus 21 in Brunn am Mountains include. Gabriela Lemberger and Burkhard W. R. Ernst, the two managing directors of the company, have stated that the group had previously been involved in 50 percent in the hotel business company in Germany and has now also acquired the remaining shares. This decision was made mutually with the previous co -owners with which the Rainer Group will continue to work in real estate development.
diversification as a success concept
The roots of the Rainer Group go back to 1959 when the company started as a car dealer in Rainergasse. Over the years, the business has expanded to the real estate and hotel industry. One of the shorter projects is the Senator Hotel, which was opened in 2008, followed by other hotels in the years. Lemberger and Ernst emphasize that the diversification of the fields of activity has proven to be the right decision. This strategy for expanding business has enabled the company to interfere with economic break -ins in individual areas, such as during Coronapandemia.
The successful development of the Rainer Hotels is also evident in the current business figures. In the first half of 2024, the Viennese Rainer Hotels achieved an increase of the overnight stays of 17 percent compared to the previous year, while the general hotel market in Vienna had an increase of 10.1 percent. This is also reflected in the net power turnover, which has also increased by 16 percent in the Rainer Hotels and is therefore above the market average.
In addition, the group's portfolio is supplemented by two other hotels in Vienna and Wels as well as another hotel that is currently planned in Budapest. The Rainer Group not only relies on growth in Germany, but also on an international expansion that positions it well to react to changed market conditions. The strategic expansion of the activities and the focus to various business areas show that the top of the company is planning carefully in order to be able to continue to compete in the future.
A special project by the Rainer Group is located in the Biotech Center Martinsried near Munich, where a laboratory and office complex, the LOC 46, is being built. This is to be handed over to the Ludwig Maximilians University at the beginning of next year and shows the industrialized approach of corporate management, ready to get involved in other areas.
