After intensive investigations, the Feldkirch public prosecutor's office announced in two cruel cases that shook Lustenau, now known in a devastating murder and an attempted murder case. In the first case that affects the killing of a 30-year-old woman at the time, a 27-year-old is accused of having strangled the woman in the course of a dispute. According to the investigation, the fatal incident is said to have taken place on March 4, 2022 when the three acquaintances wanted to spend a party night in the 21-year-old's apartment. The charges against the 27-year-old includes murder, while his 21-year-old accomplice has to go to court for failing to help. Both men are now in front of a jury, but the 21-year-old can rely on the fact that he did not experience the killing directly, and was therefore released from pre-trial detention in May 2022. The main suspect denies the allegations and blame the younger man. If the indictment turns out to be final, the 27-year-old threatens a prison sentence of ten to 20 years or even lifelong, according to the court. The ongoing investigations, some of which were drawn due to international legal welfare requests, have also explained the delays in the initiation of the procedure.
In the second case, which also affects the city of Lustenau, the alleged shooter Ali Haydar D. attempted murder is accused of several shots in which two men were seriously injured in the outdoor area of the "Sender" nightboard on January 27, 2023. The indictment came about after it turned out that there was a history between perpetrators and victims. A total of eight men are suspected of having covered Ali Haydar D. by false statements. These men have to answer to the Feldkirch Regional Court next week, while Ali Haydar D. sits in the prison in the meantime and is waiting for his process. He also threatens a long prison sentence, since according to the investigators, the indictment assumes a serious crime.
