Strengthen community: Rural Youth Ligist-Krottendorf supports Fabian

In a remarkable campaign, the members of the Landjugend Ligist-Krottendorf not only did good as part of their “Tat.Ort” project, but also set a lasting example. In the spring, the dedicated team started this unique project, which not only touched the hearts of the people in the communities of Ligist and Krottendorf-Gaisfeld, but also provided the necessary support for little Fabian from Klein-Gaisfeld, who has special needs.

The rural youth decided to join forces and visit the struggling households in both communities. They collected donations, which quickly grew to an impressive sum. The response from the population was great and demonstrated the strong sense of community in the region. It's inspiring to see how quickly a network of support and solidarity can develop when it comes to helping a fellow citizen.

A lasting mark

In addition to the fundraising campaign, the rural youth wanted to send a visible and lasting sign of solidarity. So they decided to create three new place-name signs in each of the two communities. From brainstorming to assembly, the young people invested a lot of time and effort. A special thank you goes to himPlumbing, roofing Gaier, who provided valuable support throughout the entire process.

These new boards are now on the main access roads to Ligist and Krottendorf-Gaisfeld. They welcome locals and guests and have the names of all donors on the back. In this way, the great cohesion of the region is not only symbolically recorded, but also visible for future generations.

Ceremonial handover of the donations

The eagerly awaited donation handover took place at the end of September. In front of one of the new town signs, the rural youth presented Fabian's family with an impressive amount of 25,000 euros. A moving moment full of gratitude and joy that brought tears to the eyes of those present. The rural youth then celebrated this emotional day with Fabian's family in a cozy tavern, where many good conversations and memories were certainly exchanged.

This initiative impressively shows how community projects can have a positive impact on people's lives. For further information about the background of the actions and the future projects of the rural youth, see the current reporting on www.meinkreis.at.
