A serious accident occurred on Monday, November 11, 2024, while woodwork in a private forest in Gröbming. A 73-year-old man was injured during work, which led to an immediate alarm by the rescue workers.

Around 11.30 a.m. the affected man and his 41-year-old son worked on the wooden harvest. When trying to move a felled tree, there was a dangerous incident. The two had attached a rope to the three -point winch of their tractor to move the tree trunk, but had to extend the rope because the original length was not sufficient. As they worked, the rope was torn under the trunk, which led to an unfortunate incident.

The accident and its consequences

The son acted immediately and alerted the emergency services. Subsequently, ambulances from the Red Cross and an emergency doctor arrived at the scene of the accident to take over the injured person's primary care. The man was then brought to DKH Schladming and later moved to the UKH Salzburg, where he had to be treated due to the severity of his injuries.
