Teaching hotel in Radstadt: The key to qualified tourism forces

in the beautiful Salzburg region, where tourism plays a central role, many committed people are currently getting ready for the upcoming winter season. A remarkable training project of the labor market service (AMS) in Radstadt has set itself the task of training both specialists and assistants for the hotel industry. This is done in special training accommodations that are referred to as teaching hotels. This initiative shows how important it is to win well -trained employees for the hospitality industry.

The participants, mainly from Vienna, have the opportunity to prepare for work in Salzburg tourism in various disciplines such as kitchen, service and floor in just six weeks. The first point of contact is the youth guest house Tauernruh, which was rented by the AMS for this purpose. Under the leadership of experienced trainers, the 26 participants learn how to prepare traditional Austrian dishes, acquire the basic knowledge of gastronomy and appreciate important values such as cleanliness and punctuality. This intensive course is particularly relevant because the need for seasonal workers in the ski areas increases enormously during the winter months.

training for the future

The teaching hotel offers the participants a practical training that prepares them well for their future tasks. In groups of a maximum of ten people, the participants take responsibility many times - among other things in the self -sufficiency of the hotel. This promotes the team spirit and the understanding of the challenges that can occur in the catering sector. With such a compact training, the chances of a job in the region finally come into play.

Thomas Burgstaller from the AMS emphasizes that about two thirds of the participants remain in the region after completing their training. "This shows how successful our concept is," he explains. The trainer from the professional development institute (BFI) also confirms that many graduates continue to work in the field of tourism and have already taken some way to go into self -employment. The current group of participants is particularly diverse. Representatives from different nations between the ages of 19 and 56 have different experiences and perspectives, which enriches the learning environment.

a personal insight

Stanislav Ozevov, a participant in the course, has already studied at the university in the field of hotel management and has lived in Austria for four years. With a dream of leading his own hotel one day, he sees a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in the service area, which he has hardly known so far. He is particularly impressed by the natural beauty of Radstadt - the mountains that surround him give him the feeling of being in a vacation paradise. "I have no worry about the cold and want to work in Salzburg this winter," said Ozevov.

The pressing demand for well -trained employees also becomes clear by the Situation on the job market. In November, numerous positions in the tourism sector were vacant in the district, which further underlines the importance of such training initiatives. While there is a more constant number of apprentices, the number of companies and thus also the need for hard -working workers in the catering and hotel industry.
