Four new pastors are starting their service in the Archdiocese of Salzburg
A significant event is approaching in the Archdiocese of Salzburg: On October 27th at 3 p.m. four new pastoral assistants will be ceremoniously sent into service in Salzburg Cathedral. The ceremony, led by Auxiliary Bishop Hansjörg Hofer, will take place as part of a holy mass that marks the official beginning of the work of these new pastoral staff.
The newly appointed pastoral assistants include Etienne Nary, Deacon Ernest Lindenthaler, Yvonne Roßmann and Sr. Laura Shimti Mawlong. They will serve in different parishes across the archdiocese, each taking charge of different parishes. Yvonne Roßmann has specific responsibility for youth pastoral care in Lungau and will be dedicated to the spiritual support of young people.
The new one for Lungau
Yvonne Roßmann, the new youth leader in Lungau, comes from a small village in Upper Franconia, where faith plays a central role in the life of the community. She has gained valuable knowledge through a theological distance learning course and already has experience as a youth leader for the Catholic Youth of the Archdiocese. Your future task in Lungau will be to promote young faith communities and support them on their path to relationship with God.
Tradition and commitment
The mission celebration in the cathedral is considered an important tradition of the Archdiocese of Salzburg. It offers both new and existing pastoral assistants a platform to reaffirm their commitment to the church and the people. In this solemn environment, the new pastors reaffirm their willingness to carry out their tasks with dedication and in the spirit of the church's mission. In this way, pastoral assistants provide valuable services in many areas, including support in hospitals, liturgical celebrations and educational institutions.
Further details about the various areas of activity of pastoral assistants are available on the Archdiocese of Salzburg website and provide insights into the diversity of these roles.
These new appointments and the upcoming mission celebration symbolize the archdiocese's commitment to giving young people like Yvonne Roßmann the opportunity to become active in the community and live their faith. Almost every community will benefit from this commitment.
