Austria's ski stars shine in Copper Mountain: podium places en masse!
On December 1, 2025, the Austrian ski team made an impressive comeback in Copper Mountain by achieving four podium finishes in four races at the World Cup return. Stefan Brennsteiner celebrated his first World Cup victory, which makes the entire team and the coaching team around alpine boss Christian Mitter optimistic. Mitter was positive about his team's competitiveness, putting up strong performances despite the challenges the season presents.
The women's slalom was particularly notable. While Katharina Liensberger was initially in third place, she fell back to sixth place as the race progressed. Nevertheless, she is optimistic about the future and praises her performance in the first round. Mikaela Shiffrin once again showed her impressive form and won the third slalom of the season with a clear lead, despite nerves, underlining her dominance in the World Cup. Katharina Troupe, who placed seventh, commented on Shiffrin's superiority and reflected on her own performance in this challenging competition.
Progress and challenges
Another bright spot for the Austrian team is Katharina Gallhuber, who improved to eleventh place after previous placements of 24th and 13th and was able to continue her performance without any pain. She, too, is optimistic about her progress. The next women's competitions will take place in Mont Tremblant, Canada, where there will be two giant slaloms. Julia Scheib, second in Copper Mountain, will try to defend her red jersey as the discipline leader.
Meanwhile, the men's World Cup has started with training in Beaver Creek, where downhill and super-G are on the program on Friday and Saturday. Brennsteiner, Vincent Kriechmayr and Raphael Haaser also demonstrated their strengths in Copper Mountain and showed promising performances.
Ski trips to Europe
An example of an excellent family resort is La Rosière in France, which is perfect for new skiers with gentle beginner slopes and impressive views. Arrival takes place via the international airport in Geneva, followed by a shuttle service to the resort.
So in the world of alpine skiing and ski holidays in European areas, there are many positive aspects that should please both competitors and ski enthusiasts.
