Two accidents in Kirchdorf: second sleep and alcohol at the wheel

Last Friday and in the night of Saturday, two traffic accidents occurred in Kirchdorf am Inn (Rottal-Inn district), both of which are due to careless driving behavior. Drivers from the neighboring district of Altötting were affected.

The first incident took place on Friday around 2 p.m. A 68-year-old man was on the district road towards Marktl when he came off the road shortly after leaving the local area. According to the police, he touched a tree when he reacted too late. The driver was no longer able to control the vehicle and got into skiding before he got to a standstill. The man stated that a second sleep was the cause of the accident, which led to criminal proceedings against him because of the endangerment of road traffic. The property damage to the vehicle amounts to around 20,000 euros.

The second accident occurred in the night of Saturday shortly before 2 a.m. A 50-year-old woman, also from the Altötting district, was on the way back from a Christmas party and could no longer keep her driving skills under control. After just a few hundred meters drive, she ran over a curve and finally ended up in a stream because she continued straight ahead. During the subsequent accident recording, the police officers found "considerable alcoholization", which ordered blood sampling. She also faces criminal proceedings for drunkenness in traffic. The external damage in this case was only slight.

The police emphasize that both second sleep and alcohol influence are serious risks to traffic safety. These incidents underline the importance of being vigilant and recognizing any risks of one's own driving style. For more information on these incidents, see the report on www.pnp.de .
