Leopoldimarkt 2023: Handicrafts and culinary delights in the Furthmühle Pram
On November 16th and 17th, the Furthmühle Pram will once again be a meeting place for art lovers and craft enthusiasts. The traditional Leopoldi market takes place on these two days and is considered one of the highlights of the museum year. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., visitors have the opportunity to get an idea of more than 40 exhibitors presenting their works of art and handicraft products.
The relaxed atmosphere brings craftsmen and visitors together. Here you can not only admire the unique products, but also have a direct conversation with the creators. It's the ideal opportunity to grab one or two Christmas presents.
Diverse range of craftsmanship
The Leopoldimarkt is not only a place for sales, but also a platform for traditional craft techniques such as carving, forging, turning or pottery, which are often forgotten today. Many exhibitors offer the opportunity to look over the shoulders of the craftsmen and experience their skills up close. Visitors can discover a variety of products such as jewelry, pictures, Christmas cards, nativity scenes and various decorations.
The senses are not only stimulated by the visual impressions; The nose is not neglected either. Scented candles, herbs and incense blends delight the sense of smell. Particularly in the field of textile art, visitors can admire and purchase fabric creations such as clothing made from sheep and alpaca wool as well as handmade baby clothes.
But it's not just the crafts that attract visitors; The market's culinary offerings are also diverse. From traditional dishes such as Blunzengröstl and bratwurst to tasty raclette and fresh farmer's donuts, there is something for every palate. Mulled wine and punch keep guests warm even in cool weather.
Behind the success of the Leopoldimarkt are over 80 volunteers from the Furthmühle Pram cultural association, whose commitment makes these two days a special experience. Admission is free, making the visit accessible to anyone interested.
