Eibetex Waidhofen: New location combines fashion and craftsmanship

The Eibetex employment project in Waidhofen recently took a significant step to ensure its continued existence. In an effort to minimize costs, the second-hand shop on Böhmgasse was integrated into the new area on Bahnhofstrasse. This was celebrated at an open day on October 4, 2023, which attracted numerous visitors and conveyed a positive image of this successful merger.

The new premises offer a spacious sales area on the upper floor, offering both women's and men's fashion. The adjacent tailor shop allows customers to make any necessary changes quickly and easily on site. Emphasis was also placed on accessibility so that anyone interested can easily reach the store.

Diverse insights and important discussions

It wasn't just the textile offerings that were in the foreground. The wood shop showcased a wide range of services, including restorations and new fabrications. Visitors were given insights into various work areas, including the ironing service, the tailoring and the upcycling workshop, which are all part of the Eibetex project.

A lively discussion developed with Karl Immervoll from the Reallabor Heidenreichstein, who sees great potential for social projects in the region. He emphasized that the number of people who have difficulty entering the labor market is constantly growing. “There are definitely concepts, but there is a lack of concrete funding and responsibilities,” says Immervoll. He calls for a rethink in politics in order to effectively meet the challenges.

Johann Böhm, city councilor from Groß-Siegharts, supported Immervoll's statements with a practical example. He mentioned that without the support of Eibetex, the renovation of the school campus in Groß-Siegharts could not have been realized. “I learned to appreciate Eibetex as a flexible partner, even if working in the wood workshop sometimes got on my nerves,” added Böhm with a joke.

The successful open day not only shows the commitment of the Eibetex team, but also the community that stands behind this project. The events provide a sense of togetherness and support, while important employment and social inclusion issues in the region need to continue to be discussed.
