Neunkirchen celebrates Cloak Sunday with a moonlight market and fire show!
Neunkirchen is preparing for a spectacular Sunday! On October 27, 2024, the long-awaited “coat Sunday,” the shops in the city center will open their doors from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., with an incredible selection! Around 130 shops are part of this special event, which is celebrated in many German cities. Originally, people went to the cities before All Saints Day to dress warmly - today this day attracts great discounts and happy shopping!
The magical atmosphere of the moonlight market
But that's not all! The 7th Neunkirchen moonlight market takes place parallel to Cloak Sunday. The official opening starts at 5 p.m. with a small tavern game, while many stands are already ready for visitors at 3 p.m. From culinary delights to handcrafted treasures to everyday items - there is something for everyone here! The local restaurants are also open and provide for your physical well-being. If you're hungry or thirsty, you'll find everything your heart desires here until 10 p.m.!
A colorful program awaits visitors
Mayor Lisa Hensler will personally welcome the guests, while Herold Pill alias Thorsten Schördling will moderate the entertaining supporting program. At the market, the minstrels from “Spectaculatius” create a great atmosphere with their drums, bagpipes, shawms and hurdy-gurdies. In addition, juggler Timelino captivates the audience with impressive juggling skills. Live music from the Saarland unplugged formation “MEP-Live” promises hits from rock, pop, country and blues on the stage at Stummplatz from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The crowning achievement? A captivating fire show from 9.30 p.m. with fire breathers and dancing torches that bathe the Stummplatz in brilliant light. And best of all: entry to the market is free!
