Music festival in paradise: Gmünder pubs invite you to swing
Schwäbisch Gmünd became the scene for enthusiastic music lovers again on Friday evening. Despite the wet -cold weather, which initially deterred some night owls, the pubs of the Stauferstadt filled when the clock hit 9 p.m. The “Music in Gmünder Kneipen” festival again offered a wide range of music styles this year and attracted many guests.
The event that was launched 33 years ago allows visitors to stroll through the city and enjoy it in various local music - and all for free. In Sebaldstrasse, in the "Paradies", the band "Attenti al Cane" set up and celebrated its 20th anniversary. Sebastian Sorg, one of the musicians, explained that the band from oldies to new hits played everything and the guests were visibly enthusiastic.
variety of music styles
not far away, in Kornhausstraße, three rock bands heated up to visitors. Jana Thiem, owner of the Kino Kneipe Fabrik, was proud that her restaurant has been there since the first edition of the festival. In other corners of the city, guests were able to experience folk music, hits and even jazz in different pubs. It was a feast for the senses that impressively displayed the city's musical diversity.
The concept of the festival is to give people the opportunity to discover different styles in one evening. This musical mix has a tradition in Schwäbisch Gmünd and not only attracts locals, but also visitors from the area. The music is handmade and ranges from blues to rock to international sounds from the Mediterranean, which were offered in the various bars.
Although the weather was initially uncomfortable, the guests did not allow themselves to be discouraged and quickly found their way to the various music performances. Bohemian tavern sounds were played in the front Schmiedgasse, while the A.L.S.O.-Kulturcafé welcomed jazz lovers.
The festival has gained popularity over the years, and the number of participating bands and pubs has also increased. It was not only a celebration of music, but also an opportunity for musicians and audiences to maintain old acquaintances and to make new friendships.
The idea for this festival came from Dietmar Spiller, a well -known music lover and conductor of the Gmünder Musikverein, who died in 2011. His original idea of bundle the city's musical talent is kept alive with every edition.
Overall, Schwäbisch Gmünd remains a place where music lovers gather to celebrate and enjoy. Even if the weather did not play along, the mood in the center of the city remained lively and friendship gangs were re -established.
