Villacher Advent: Christkindlpostamt and family attractions
Villach turns into a true wonderland at Christmas, and one of the most beautiful traditions that enjoy children and families here is writing letters to the Christ Child. From now on, the Christkindlpostamt opens its doors every Advent weekend from Friday to Sunday between 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. In a cozy, heated hut, the little visitors can not only design their own Christmas tree decorations, but also record their wishes to the Christ Child in a letter.
To increase the anticipation for Christmas, every child who makes a letter in the Christkindlpostamt is pleased with a gift: the small children's newspaper. In addition, the children also receive a Christmas card from the Christkind and the Kleine Zeitung. In addition, there are exciting magic shows and Kasperltheater every Sunday from 4 p.m. on Nikolaiplatz, and at the pony station on the lower church square, the children can ride on the friendly ponies on weekends from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Another highlight are the biscuit campaigns in the Bernold bakery, which take place on Fridays and Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Here the little bakers can let their creativity run free and decorate their cookies individually. Another highlight in the Advent program is the big Krampus run, which takes place on Friday, November 29th, in the city center of Villach. This year, 50 groups with a total of around 1000 cramps are moving through the streets. The focus is particularly on the four children's crampon groups, which will take part for the first time and will surely take great eyes to the audience. Villach offers numerous opportunities to enjoy the festive atmosphere during Advent, and the Christkindlpostamt is a wonderful way for families to spend time together and experience the magic of Christmas up close. special events during the Advent season
