Neue Wohnbauoffensive in Klagenfurt: 70 hochwertige Eigentumswohnungen entstehen in Harbach

In Klagenfurt, specifically in the smart district of Harbach, a new residential project called „Heimatglück“ has broken ground. The project, spearheaded by the housing association Neue Heimat, a subsidiary of the state-owned nonprofit housing association Landeswohnbau Kärnten (LWBK), will consist of 70 owner-occupied apartments ranging in size from 43 to 125 square meters. The pre-sale of these apartments has already begun, and they are expected to be ready for occupancy by March 2027.

One of the unique features of Harbach is the diverse range of housing options it offers, fostering social cohesion and interaction. Gaby Schaunig, the state councilor responsible for housing and also the representative of LWBK, emphasized the significance of this mix of housing forms, which includes affordable rental apartments, residential communities for people with disabilities, a daycare center, and an inclusive café. The addition of high-quality and affordable owner-occupied apartments further expands the housing options available to singles, couples, and families. Importantly, these apartments will only be allocated to individuals with a genuine and current housing need, ensuring they are not left vacant as mere investment properties.

Harald Repar, the commercial manager of LWBK, underscored the rarity of affordable owner-occupied housing in such a green and natural setting. He highlighted the successful combination of quality construction and ecological sustainability in this project, firmly establishing LWBK as a reliable partner for prospective homeowners. The two-, three-, and four-room apartments in the development offer a range of amenities such as private gardens, balconies, terraces, and loggias. With prices starting at €169,000, the apartments also include features like rooftop photovoltaic systems, underfloor heating, and shading systems to keep rooms cool during summer. Surrounded by lush greenery, the 70 apartments are distributed across five buildings spanning two to five stories. The design of the ensemble was created by architect Sebastian Horvath from Lendarchitektur. The total investment for the project amounts to approximately €21 million.
