25 years of Carinthia Sport: A bright sign of sports funding in Carinthia

In the Klagenfurt sports park, there was recently an occasion to celebrate: The Carinthia Sport association celebrated its 25th anniversary. Since its foundation in 1999, the association has supported a total of 1,052 athletes, which makes an important contribution to promoting sport in the region and beyond.

Governor Peter Kaiser emphasized the role of Carinthia Sport as a “lighthouse project” during the celebrations. He emphasized that the association has paved the way to many domestic athletes to important Olympics as well as world and European championships. Development of the sports country

Kaiser also recalled how Carinthia has continuously developed as a sports country in the past 25 years. Arno Arthofer, the state sports director and chairman of the association, explained that the efforts to further develop the association were unbroken in order to offer supported athletes the best possible conditions. He thanked the partners such as the state of Carinthia, Kelag and Generali, who provide the funding. "We are a volunteer association and the funding we receive only benefit our contractors' and contractors," emphasized Arthofer.
