Digital future in Lower Austria: Funded over 150 projects for EUR 7.5 million!
Digitization is progressing in Austria and the current programs aim to support small and medium -sized companies (SMEs) in this transition. The Lower Austrian initiative "Digi4wirtschaft" shows positive results in 2025, with over 150 projects submitted and promoted investments of around 7.5 million euros. This reports noe.gv.at .
The progress of digitization is not only a technological change, but also an essential basis for the competitiveness of the companies. Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner emphasizes the strengthening of innovative strength in the region. The President of the WKNÖ, Wolfgang Ecker, emphasizes the variety of digitization's possibilities in various industries.
digitization projects in the focus
As part of the “Digi4wirtschaft” program, companies are encouraged to develop data -based application solutions. One example is Benefit BüroService GmbH from St. Pölten, which uses artificial intelligence to improve service quality. The promotion of these innovation projects is crucial for the further development of the company's telephone service software.
Since the initiative started, over 2,100 projects with a total funding of around 44 million euros have been supported, which has led to private digital investments of over 87 million euros. For 2025 there are again four million euros in funding that will soon be exhausted.
Funding program SME.Digital
In addition to "Digi4wirtschaft", there is the "SMU.Digital" program, which specifically aims to open up the digitization potential of Austrian SMEs. This program offers incentives to support the conception, implementation and market launch of digital projects. It aims to strengthen the digital competitiveness of the Austrian economy and to accelerate the transformation process into a sustainably digitized economic structure, such as "https://www.bmwet.gv.at/themen/wirtschaftsort-oesterreich/kmu/foerderungen/f%C3%B6RDRERNGERNGEGRIENG-MU.Digital" class = "source_2"> bmwet.gv.at is executed.
The program comprises two funding rails: "SME.Digital 4.0" for digital projects and "SME.Digital 4.0 & Green", which supports sustainable, ecologically relevant digitization projects. This is where the focus is on energy efficiency, resource conservation, circular economy and sustainable production.
outlook and contact options
The funding from SME.Digital is intended to help create growth and employment impulses for the economy. From 2024, an expansion around the "SME.Digital & Green" special rail will be sought, which is based on six sustainability issues that support TwinTransition (digital and green).
