Europa-Park creates a retreat for children and families with cancer
In the Europa-Park in Rust, a new children's house with the name "Little Helden" is built, which is specially designed for families with children with cancer. This project was officially announced in a press release and is to be opened in 2026. The construction of the children's house will be carried out as a central charity initiative in 2025 as part of the 50th anniversary of the European Park.
The children's home will offer five spacious apartments, which offer enough space for a family of four. Owner Roland Mack explains that the goal of this project is to help children with cancer to return to a normal life after a serious illness. The visit to the park and the stay in the associated Rulantica water park should enable families a week full of joy of life and relaxation.
target group and support
Families benefit from a free stay that can last for a week. During your stay, you can not only use the park's leisure activities, but also take excursions to the area, such as the Taubergießen nature reserve or to the cities of Freiburg and Strasbourg. Volunteers, often former employees of the park, will look after the families during their stay. These helpers receive special training in order to be able to respond to the needs of children with cancer.
The project is supported professionally by the Syltklinik, a clinic for children's oncological rehabilitation. In addition, the German Children's Cancer Foundation in Bonn will contribute to the implementation of the children's home. The entire initiative is carried out in cooperation with the "Foundation RTL - we help children", which has carried out projects to support children since 1996 and has made more than 287 million euros available.
Wolfram Kons, board member of the foundation, emphasizes that the children's house "Little Helden" should bring new joy of life to the affected families, which is crucial for the healing process of the children. In addition, the cooperation with the non -profit support association Santa Isabel, founded by Marianne Mack, is emphasized, which ensures the long -term support of this project.
The Swiss musician DJ Bobo has taken over a special sponsorship. He expresses himself enthusiastically about the idea of the children's home and sees it as a personal matter of the heart to help families in difficult times. "It is a personal concern for me to help families and children who have had difficult times," he says.
The children's home will be presented at the RTL donation marathon on November 21 and 22, which should further increase the visibility and support of this important initiative. This information was, among other things, from www.badische-zeitung.de
