50 years Bhak/Bhas Frauenkirchen: Alumni celebrate an extraordinary anniversary
A special celebration took place on October 5, 2024 at Bhak/Bhas Frauenkirchen when the graduates of the first year-that from 1971/72-came together to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Half a century ago, this was the first year that attended the commercial school founded in 1971 and thus helped shape the history of this educational institution. At that time, the students still had to use the premises of the Mittelschule Frauenkirchen.
After many years, the former students returned to explore the developments of their old school in the new, modern building. Under the reception of director Hannes Schmid, they got an insight into the current training opportunities and the resulting progress in the field of education. "The technical equipment and the new pedagogical approaches were very impressed by the alumni and aroused memories of their own school days," reported Schmid.
insights into school history
The celebration was initiated by a tour of the school building, which gave the graduates nostalgic feelings. In addition to the commercial school, today's school building also includes the commercial academy and the school for social care professions (SOB), which underlines the diversity of the training offered.
After the tour, a glass of sparkling wine in the management surprised. Director Schmid read from the annual report of the final year, so that many anecdotes and memories from that time revived. The presence of Professor Gerhard Eechs, one of the first teachers at the school, was particularly emotional. With a lot of wit and heart he told of the excursions he had done with his students and who were unforgettable for many of them.
community and friendships
The anniversary not only offered an opportunity to honor the school roots, but also to refresh old friendships. The event ended with a dinner together in the Gasthof Weisz-Spartner. Here it became clear that the community, which was created at the commercial school five decades ago, remains alive and strong. Director Schmid summed up that this meeting will be an unforgettable event for all participants and that the connection has by no means been lost over the years.
This ceremony is an impressive example of how important the shared experiences and educational experiences are, and shows that education is not only a way to personal development, but can also create strong bonds between people. Such anniversaries help to keep the identity and the character of an institution alive. More on this past history and other developments of the BHAK/BHAS Frauenkirchen are at www.meinbezirk.at read.
