A roofing operation from the district of Nienburg is now the focus of law enforcement - and rightly so! The main customs office of Osnabrück has imposed incredible fines of 329,000 euros against the responsible partner. The reason? Serious violations of the minimum wage law and other legal requirements have not been hidden!

The investigation began with blurred exams on various construction sites, where the customs authorities discovered alarming abuses. Between June 2020 and January 2023, the mandatory minimum wage was withheld from the employees - a sum of around 77,000 euros, which the partner kept profitable! In addition, the authorities revealed that the employees were not properly reported to the pension insurance institution and were completely lacking in wage evidence. A scandalous failure across the board!

The partner tried to object to the draconian fine, but he simply disappeared at the main hearing date. Without an adequate apology, the judge saw no reason to stand up to the objection, and so the fines of the main customs office in Osnabrück became final. A clear signal that such violations of the laws do not remain unpunished! But the question remains: who protects the workers who have to suffer from such conditions?
