On July 7, 2025, there was a serious accident in Strengen, Tyrol, when a 32-year-old Austrian woman drove off the road in the forest road in the Riefenwald area with a 4-axle truck with a trough body that was loaded with around 18 tons of “muren material”. The truck was used for clean-up work after a mudslide.
While driving in a left-hand bend, the right tires of the vehicle went over the wet and muddy side of the road. As a result, the vehicle tipped to the side and fell about 10 meters into the embankment before coming to a stop when it hit two trees. The driver was taken to Zams Hospital with unspecified injuries, but was able to free herself from the truck.
