Energy transition in concrete terms: E-Salon in Gänserndorf on November 12th!

The e-salon “Energiewende KONKRET” will take place in Gänserndorf on November 12, 2025. The event, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the BHAK/BHAS Gänserndorf, Hans Kudlich-Gasse 30, aims to advance the discussion about the energy transition and its implementation in the region. The event is organized by OEKONEWS, POWERFUL PEOPLE and HAK Gänserndorf.

The event brings together a large number of experts, including Thomas Breitsprach, chairman of the EEG “Gans”, and Rudi Raymann from Raymann – Kraft der Sonne. Doris Holler-Bruckner, editor of oekonews, and Christoph Jank, director of BHAK/BHAS, will also be present. Karin Neckamm will moderate the event. Admission to the event is free and is supported by the federal government, the state and the European Union, as part of a project by the LEADER REGIONS Marchfeld and Petronell-Carnuntum.

Focus on solutions and innovative projects

The e-salon offers a platform for exchanging ideas on solutions for the energy transition and innovative projects. The topics are chosen so that communities, companies and individuals can get to know concrete approaches to implementing the energy transition. The event promotes networking and cooperation as well as discussions at eye level.

The energy transition is a comprehensive concept that should not only affect the energy sector. The primary goal is to create a sustainable, reliable and climate-neutral energy system by 2045. This initiative now covers all economic sectors, including buildings, transport, industry and agriculture, and is supported by a broad public, as Wikipedia emphasizes.

Current status of the energy transition in Germany

The German energy transition aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80-95% compared to 1990 by 2050 and to achieve a 60% share of renewable energy. By 2023, 27% of emissions have already been reduced, but further annual reductions of 3.5% are necessary to achieve the goals Agora Energiewende.

The dependence on coal and fossil gas represents a major challenge in Germany's energy mix, especially since the last three nuclear power plants were shut down in April 2023. The plan is to completely phase out coal by 2030-2038. In 2023, over 50% of electrical energy will have come from renewable sources, but the price of electricity remains the highest in Europe, which could affect the competitiveness of the industry, as Wikipedia describes.

The energy transition continues to be viewed critically, particularly with regard to the high costs and the impact of the nuclear power phase-out on greenhouse gas emissions. At the same time, the aim is to increase investment in renewable energy and related infrastructure in order to reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels and ensure long-term economic security. The aim is to reduce energy prices for citizens and companies in order to strengthen economic competitiveness.

The upcoming event in Gänserndorf represents an important step towards exchanging these challenges and best practices that are crucial for implementing the energy transition at the regional level.
