Faked Drowning: Man returns to Wisconsin after months of escape!

An incredible drama took place in the USA! Ryan Borgwardt, a man who faked his own drowning to flee to Europe, has returned and is now facing the judiciary. The authorities are relieved that this bizarre case has finally come to an end.

The story started in August when Borgwardt disappeared into Wisconsin. He was on the way to Green Lake to go to Kajaken there. But what started as a relaxing excursion turned into a monthly puzzle. His car and trailer were found near the lake, which is over 60 meters deep. His kayak drove in the water and his fishing rod was later recovered. The search for his body lasted over 50 days and cost the authorities at least $ 35,000!

The return and the upcoming charges

on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, Borgwardt landed again in Wisconsin after he had volunteered. Sheriff Mark Podoll explained that the return was probably motivated by family motives. But the joy of his return is clouded by the upcoming charges. Although Borgwardt had no criminal problems before his disappearance, he is now charged with “disability” of the police search.

The investigators had indications that Borgwardt had fled abroad, possibly to meet a woman in Uzbekistan whom he had met online. In the first days of November, the authorities contacted him, but had difficulty moving him to return. Borgwardt claimed that he had fled because of "personal affairs" and left his cell phone in the water after he had overturned with his kayak.

a plan, the crooked

his escape was an adventurous trip: he paddled on the shore with an inflatable boat, drove to Madison with an e-bike, traveled to Detroit by bus and then to Canada, where he finally got on a plane. The police are currently examining whether his narrative corresponds to the truth.

The whole story raises many questions. What did Borgwardt drive to take such a risk? And what other charges could he come up with? The investigation has not yet been completed, and the public is looking forward to the next steps in this extraordinary case.
